Wish You the Most Beautiful Day

Happy Friday my crafty friends~ Hope you are all enjoying the summer. Wish you the most beautiful day with this card! Use translucent  vellum paper  to trace or draw the picture. And then cut the white cardstock using ScanNCut machine. The cardstock used here is the  Savoy cotton cardstock , which is made of pure cotton. Cut another piece out as a stencil for coloring the flowers and leaves with copic marker. The colors were very easily blended on this cotton cardstock. The colors bleed through to the backside, but it's not a big deal as the piece will be glued to the card base. Put foam tapes between the front layer and the colored layer to create a little bit of shadow effect. The blue and purple distress inks (water based) were blended smoothly on this cotton cardstock. This cotton cardstock is also good for watercoloring. Stamp the sentiment to the card front, and glue the card front to the pink card base ( Basis pink 80lb cardstock ). I really enjoyed ma

Thank You Card Set

Happy Friday my dear crafty friends~ Since all  gold  and  silver  cardstocks are on sale this month at  CutCardStock , I'd like to show you another card that uses my favorite gold cardstock of all, the  Stardream Metallic Fine Gold cardstock . These thank you cards are very easy to make, and they come in pairs. Prepare the gold and white ( Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock ) cardstocks in A2 sizes. Use the washi tape to cover the front of the white cardstock. With the "THANKS" die, cut the center of both cards out. Swap the letters between the two cardstocks to pop them out of the card. Glue the card front and letters to the card base to complete the cards. They are so simple to make, so I made a set of 8 saved for future uses. Thank you for stopping by. Please check CutCardStock on  Facebook  to get updates on sales and inspirations from the design team. And don't forget that all  gold  and  silver  cardstocks are on sale this month. Happy

Wedding Congrats Card

Happy Friday my crafty friends! Hope all of you are enjoying the summer time. Summer and Fall are the wedding seasons. Do you need to make any wedding congratulations card? Here is one card I made using the gold and silver cardstocks. The front frame was cut using the  Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock . Any backgound cover die would do this job. Prepare the  Stardream Metallic Fine Gold cardstock  in A2 size (5.5'' x 4.25''). I love how the gold color pops through the holes of the frame. Stamp and cut the flowers and leaves for the card front decorations. I tried the sentiment "congrats" in both gold ( Stardream Metallic Fine Gold cardstock ) and silver ( CCS Silver Glitter Paper ) colors. It turned out that the silver one was more eye-catching. Glue all pieces together completes the card. I'd also like to try the  Mirrisparkle Glitter Silver Cardstock  as the background with gold sentiment. Thank you for stopping by. Please

Simple Birthday and Thank You Cards with Pop-Tones Cardstock

Hi there! Happy Friday! YAY~~ What kinds of cards do you make the most? For me, they're birthday cards and thank you cards. Today I'm going to show you some simple to make cards with  Pop-Tones cardstock . Here are the colors of cardstock I picked:  Cotton Candy ,  Banana Split ,  Bubble Gum  and  Grape Jelly . First, cut out some intricate frames using the  Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock . Then glue the frames to the Pop-Tones cardstock. The color of the cardstock can be seen through the die-cut holes to give the frame a lace-like look. Pick a few large stamps as the sentiment. You may also use any die-cut sentiments that fit in the frame. Add some embellishment flowers to make the card a little more interesting. I used the leftover cardstock in  Banana Split  to pop them in front of the purple background. Assemble everything together, here comes the finished card. You may add other embellishment like sequins, crystals or ribbons as you wish.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!! Let's make some cards to celebrate the important fathers in our lives. I start off by choosing a few masculine colors from my  Basis cardstock collection . By the way, this cardstock is on sale this month at  Cutcardstock . Prepare the cardstock into A2-sized note cards. Then die-cut a heart from each of them. Also cut the red cardstock in A2 size for the middle layer underneath the heart. The card base used is  Basis 110LB White Cardstock . This is my favorite weight for card bases. Die-cut the "Dad" sentiment using  Stardream metallic fine gold 105lb cardstock . Cut out the "YOU'RE THE BEST" tags as well. Assemble everything together. Dad, you're the best in my heart! Thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting~ Cheers, Lia Instagram  |  Blog

Thinking of You

Happy Wednesday, my crafty friends! Just hang in there! Today I'm going to show you how I made this thinking of you card with some  Pop-Tones cardstock  that is currently on sale at  CutCardStock . This cardstock is 65 lb cover weight with a wide range of colors to choose from. It's great for card fronts.  I picked the following two colors for this card:  Grapesicle  and  Black Licorice .  The Grapesicle cardstock is kind of the lilac color. I used it under the washi tape to give it a light purple background. The washi tape is translucent. So the lilac color has been softened to accompany the blue flowers, but not too overwhelming. The sentiment "Thinking of you" is cut with the  Black Licorice  as well as the  Stardream metallic fine gold 105lb cardstock  (my go-to gold cardstock). The black will go under the gold with a little bit of staggering to create a shadow effect. Glue all pieces together. All done! I'll give this card to Bonnie, the

Wedding Card with Sparkly Glitter Background

Dear crafty friends, as the spring is finally here, the wedding season is about to begin. I'd like to share with you a wedding card with sparkly background using the  POW glitter paper  in gold. I love the pure golden color and very fine grains of this cardstock.  First, cut the glitter paper into A7 (5'' x 7'') size. And die-cut the intricate frame using the  Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock .  Then heat emboss the sentiment and die-cut it out. Glue the frame to the gold glitter paper and trim the edges to give it a border. I also took a close-up picture of the paper. You may see how fine and shiny the glitters are.  Heat emboss the flowers and leaves and colored them with watercolor brushes. Assemble everything together. Done! The sparkly glitter background is great for special days like the wedding day. It made the flowers more popped out. Thank you for stopping by! Please let me know if you have any questions b

Watercolor on Metallic Cardstock

Hello my crafty friends! Have you ever wondered how would watercolor look like on metallic cardstock? Here is my experiment. The smoothness of the  Curious Metallic Cryogen White Cardstock  inspired me to try  distress oxide ink  blending on it. I used two green colors and they were very easy to blend together because of the super smooth surface of this cardstock. If you zoom into the picture, you may see little sparkles embedded in the cardstock that add extra shine to this background. Then I cut the piece with a frame die and heat embossed the sentiment on the bottom.  With the same  Curious Metallic Cryogen White Cardstock , I die-cut three roses. Watercolored the roses with two colors shown below. Although this cardstock is not very absorbent like watercolor papers, it is thick enough to hold its shape when water was applied. The two colors flew and blended together pretty well. Assemble all the pieces together, here is a rose card for the spring
